PRESIDENT'S COMMITMENT
CEDA holds certain beliefs about Health and Safety. Embracing these beliefs in our daily work lives assists the Corporation in sustaining a culture where Health, Safety and Environmental management is an integrated component of our overall management philosophy and management structure.
Our beliefs, simply stated are:
- Zero incidents is not the target, but the result of an effective Safety Program.
- Quality, production, and safety are one.
- Working safely means complying with legislation, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Working safely is a condition of employment.
- Employees have the responsibility and obligation to say NO to imminent danger.
- Understanding, knowledge, and skill are our best defenses against accidental loss.
- All incidents are foreseeable, and therefore, preventable.
- Effective health, safety and environmental management contribute to quality.
As identified in our Corporate Safety Policy “we expect excellence in health and safety performance and active participation by all employees,” to expect less would be irresponsible, and will not be tolerated.
