Position Summary:
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Project Accountant to join our dynamic team! This role will perform a variety of financial and administrative functions designed to assist the Project Team in the efficient execution of complex and diverse projects, while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information. This role is the primary link between operations, project management and finance; therefore strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and flexibility are crucial.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·Assist with documentation and details related to project start up
·Contract Review – Strong understanding of current and new contracts including all billing and reporting requirements.
·Rates management – update and maintain the rate tables and ensure client acceptance of new rates.
·Rate Creation – Create all new rates ensuring that the rates will still achieve CEDA EBITDA goals and customer retentions.
·Work in Progress – review and report on WIP values by project and balance to the GL accounts for month end reconciliations
·Approve and review project costs
·Provide detailed tracking and analysis of project costs
·Change Order Management – Need to report on change orders to the project management team, creation and maintenance of change orders.
·Prepare project invoices and facilitate timely collection
·Work directly with clients on all issues related to billing/reporting. This could be invoice related, contract related or purchase order related (basically the buffer between the client and CEDA)
·Provide project status and analysis information to Project Team and Accounting including month-end reporting and project financial statements
·Follow up on open and outstanding issues
·Provide ongoing support to the Project Team and Accounting

Skills and experience:
·Business diploma or university degree with a major in accounting
·CGA/CMA or enrolled in the program would be considered an asset
·At least 3 years related experience in a project accountant position within the construction industry
·Ability to read/comprehend/administer construction type contracts
·Exposure to a “daily field capture” system would be an asset
·Strong computer skills – Financial/Project Accounting applications – ERP experience would be an asset, Excel, Word, Outlook
