Job Title:Temporary Foreign Worker / International Hiring Specialist

Position Summary:
This role is responsible for providing support for skilled trades positions that are and can be filled by Temporary Foreign Workers, for both salaried and temporary rotational work within CEDA. This role has a strong focus on the administrative processes involving LMOs, work permits and any and all other requirements and needs for international hiring. You will be the key contact for all TFW coordination and will provide guidance and direction to our Leaders with regards to our recruitment processes and onboarding for temporary foreign workers throughout the CEDA Group of Companies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Based in our Sherwood Park location, with regular travel required, this position will be responsible for contributing to our overall recruitment program and overseeing all day-to-day activities related to the Temporary Foreign Worker and skilled trades’ recruitment process. Duties are generally described as, but not limited to:

TFW/International Hiring Duties

·Coordinate the deployment of the temporary foreign workers from overseas to Canada
·Ensure everyone arrives safely in Canada, and has transportation and training, and has completed other onboarding requirements prior to deploying to site
·Initiate and coordinate skilled trades from onboarding to training, once the employees are in Canada.
You will work collaboratively with the Learning and Development Group, among others within CEDA
·Understand current and future manpower requirements and communicate this to appropriate contacts
·Communicate information on candidate timing to team members to ensure that they can perform their assigned tasks
·Interface with operations and site based personnel regarding TFW onboarding
·Track the temporary foreign worker training process to ensure that they receive the appropriate certifications
·Hold weekly meetings; discuss task delegation and review issues
·Meet and exceed the outlined hiring targets for TFW and hires within Canada for related roles
·Build strong pools of candidates for future requirements
·In conjunction with the Manager, set quarterly targets and objectives
·Set and monitor required metrics in relation to projects
·Assist in the full cycle interview process for related roles
·Assist in all recruiting on an as needed basis around peak hiring times

Day-to-day Full-cycle Recruitment Activities

-Collaborate with Leaders, Business Partners and other HR team members to establish effective, role-specific recruitment strategies; optimizing recruitment costs, ensuring the integrity of the hiring process, and delivering quality recruitment services
-Create and monitor external job postings
-Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies. Negotiate contract terms, monitor progress of outsourced recruitment activities and close contracts
-Pre-screen candidates
-Process internal and direct referral candidates
-Coordinate interviews including creation of relevant and effective interview guides
-Facilitate pre-employment conditions
-Create offer letters and required internal hiring documentation
-Regret candidates

Project-based Activities

-Participate in cross-functional team projects as required

Networking, Branding & Promotion

-Actively seek out and develop relevant contacts within the industry and related groups
-Attend career fairs, information sessions and conferences as required
-Consistently promote awareness of and the CEDA group of companies in a positive manner
-Build and maintain relationships with targeted technical schools

Role Specifications:
-Experience in working with Temporary Foreign Workers in Canada and in the processes involving LMOS and other requirements
-3-5 years of experience in a coordination or recruitment role in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
-Knowledge of Federal and Provincial regulations and experience in completing temporary work Visas is required
-Access to reliable transportation is required to travel to various offices and worksites
-RPR Designation and CHRP Designation achieved or in progress are assets
-Excellent communication and organizational skills
-Related Degree or Diploma is desired
