Position Summary:
The Contracts Coordinator performs a full range of contracts administration and coordination working activities, as allocated by the Contracts Manager to meet operational requirements, with key focus on contractual terms and conditions, obligations, liabilities and risks from a commercial and technical perspective. The individual will review and administer contractual terms in consultation with CEDA stakeholders (Legal, Operations and Corporate departments). This position could be based in either Sherwood Park, AB or Calgary, AB.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:
· Become familiar with CEDA operations, standard contractual documentation, CEDA policies and contractual negotiating parameters developed to suit CEDA operations
· Perform bid reviews on contractual obligations in client bid documentation and, in accordance with established CEDA negotiation parameters, document recommendations, clarifications or exceptions, in conjunction with Legal
· Play a leading role in negotiation of contractual arrangements with clients and suppliers, based on CEDA negotiation parameters, using either client or CEDA contract documentation
· Develop individual contract summaries for use by Operations teams
· Liaise with CEDA and external stakeholders to understand potential subcontracting needs
· Conduct post-award contract administration / contractual change management functions, ensuring compliance with established CEDA negotiation parameters and contractual terms and conditions
· Provide periodic contract status reports, resolve issues and mitigate risks
· Escalate requirement for contractual challenges to appropriate levels in CEDA
· Conduct contract closeout functions, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions
· Provide telephone / electronic / in person support (as dictated by business requirements) to CEDA and external stakeholders to address, or provide advice on, contracts and commercial issues
· Assist with contractual audits

Secondary Responsibilities:
· Work with Contracts Liaison Coordinator to facilitate contract execution
· Assist in preparing and submitting counterparty responses such as expression of interest, letter to decline, extension requests, questionnaires etc.
· Assist CMS Client Services, as required, with initiation, evaluation, development, management and completion of bid proposals for CEDA affiliates in accordance with corporate mandate

Role Specifications:

Requirements:
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in contracts administration and coordination
· Ability to analyse complex contractual documents and articulate complex ideas, verbally and in writing
· Advanced knowledge of contractual terms and condition terminology
· Proficient computer skills: e.g. Microsoft Office applications, Adobe professional, Visio, etc.
· Ability to work with all levels of management
· Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills
· Well organized work ethic, with time management skills
· Analytical and Detail oriented
· Possess the ability to assimilate directions and execute tasks with minimal supervision
· Team player
· Demonstrate a high degree of discretion and ability to protect company confidential information and possess a high degree of integrity
· Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to Health and Safety

Nice to have skills:
· Formal training / certifications in Contracts administration
· Knowledge of procurement, contracts and commercial law in Oil & Gas Industry
· Knowledge of HS&E Policies/procedures and OH&S safety regulations

Qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree, or acceptable equivalent proven working knowledge of contracts activities
· Degree in Business or Commerce preferred
· Formal training / certification in commercial law preferred
